Title: Water pump ?
Post by: omega3000 on 02 March 2012, 18:28:55
Cant see any guide for water pump removal on the V6  :-\

Anyone replaced it with the cambelt guard on as i would rather not strip all the plenum off , i need the car back together early tomorrow .

Water pump can be changed with the cambelt cover in place, but if the pump is stuck then you are likely to damage the cover when persuading the pump to move.
Also....dont drop any of the bolts  :D
Or................remove bag pipes , plenum (if long), SAI pipe work, Auxiliary belt after undoing the bolts on the water pump pulley and  on the power steering pump, remove auxiliary tensioner, remove cable tray and then cam belt cover

Quickest route me thinks although the bag pipes and rad are off already , dont want to disturb the plenum just yet as i have not taken that off and dont have any seals to replace if need be  ;)
