Just had a fella drive all the way from Rhyll in North Wales (300 miles away from me!) to look at the TD after we'd agreed a price over the phone, he just arrived about 25min ago (didn't even knock or make himself known, just proceeded to look around the car like it was a forecourt!! Which i HATE!) and started to look around the car.
Got back in his car and drove off! >:(
I rang him making out i was curious to see how long he was going to be - although i'd been watching thru my front room window, he said the car was spot on etc... BUT it was Grey! I said no its black, he said its grey and i replied 'the V5 says its BLACK' said bye and put the phone down!
Another time waster ::)

Had the same thing happen to me - car had been stood a while when sold on ebay - when guy arrived and battery was a bit weak so had to jump start. Guy said alternator was knackered so didnt want to buy and went. You just cant guage it.
Still got the car and intend to put back on road and use myself - as bootie said his loss

Loss of social skill due to texting, email, forum useage ;) Forget how to speak to real people, happy enough on the phone but face to face????
I say that with tounge in cheek but ISTR that this is indeed becoming a problem with todays younger generation.

He probably came hoping to knock the price down by a large amount .. realised the car was as advertised and you would not budge very far and decided not to argue .. :)

In the fellas defence he was an oldish chap with grey/white hair, so at the very least i would expect him to know the social skills of presenting yourself to someone before conducting business.
We had a gentleman agreement which we both stuck to, seemed odd that he didn't even knock to discuss - Just went! ha ha

I take it you got all the bits fitted and working then Paul? Any chance of you breaking even on the deal? :-\

Well it happened all fairly quickly with him contacting me and turning up today, managed to fit the wiper motor this morning, window regulator i did during the week, drivers door handle still needs doing and the sunroof is still busted even after cleaning the disc and using the reset details in the owners manual.
I'll do the door handle on Monday, should break even which is ok.

That's good news mate! Onwards and upwards! :y
We need to get together once you've got the B12 suspension on yours. Might help me decide what to do with mine! ::)

Its possible he had a specific car in his mind, and that was, simply, all he was every going to buy. Esp with a colour like black. Some people really like black, but has to be proper black.
He was clearly keen if he drove that distance, but had a set colour in his mind. But, yes, I'd still knock on the door
