Title: "£$^&& ebay buyers
Post by: waspy on 05 March 2012, 15:50:31
Sold a 1" drive torque wrench on ebay on Sunday eve. The "buyer" ::) ::) lives in Ireland I e-mailed him as soon as the auction ended, because I didn't specify courier costs, Ireland would cost more.
As of yet I haven't heard a peep from him, He has 100% feedback, but only has a buyer, but looking down his profile he has one item that he didn't pay for, but the seller left + feedback as he couldn't leave - though the seller slated him for it.
What happens when a buyer doesn't make contact? Can they have a strike against their name?
This has not happened to me before.

after a week you can open a case against him and leave it to ebay to sort it out if it goes in your favor then you will receive a credit on your relisting fees

you could ask ebay for his/her number but it may cost you more :-\

If it was only last night the auction ended, I wouldn't worry yet ;)

No such country as Ireland.Postage may or may not cost more depending whether he lives in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland. ;) :)

This happened to me recently, where the winning bidder failed to pay or answer any correspondence for almost a fortnight. I opened a dispute and they failed to respond or acknowledge that either. In the end I had to cancel the whole thing in order to allow me to relist the item. I wasn't impressed with the system though confess I am not entirely sure I was using it correctly as it didn't seem to offer any protection to the seller. On a previous occasion a bidder withdrew from the auction without any explanation, etc which I didn't think was allowed? I couldn't do anything about that then either  :(

His profile says Ireland. I didn't know it was called Republic of Ireland ???
When I speak my mate Joe who's from Southern Ireland, he refers to it as so, I'll have to correct him next time ;D :y

People from the Republic tend to refer to it as Ireland in conversation,but to use it as an address for postal purposes is stupid tbh. ;)

Not really much of a problem though really, you are the seller, you still have your item...sell it again :y

I know it is annoying when this happens, has happened a couple of times to me, over the years, but at least it is not something you have bought and paid for and not received......
