Title: Exhaust diameter?
Post by: Simon23 on 08 March 2012, 18:39:07
Odd question but does anyone know the EXTERNAL diameter of the pipes going to the centre sections on a 95 v6?

50.8 rings a bell, but be aware not all manufacturers stick to standard sizes. It's not uncommon for one makers back box not to fit on another's mid sections.

Although on re reading, your q would appear to relate to the cats..?

I am removing the centre boxes so I need a pipe to go over them. My cars too low to crawl under with some verniers so I thought i'd ask here. Only way to find out for sure I guess is to get in on a ramp.

4-pot o/d is a shade under 51mm so should imagine V6 would be about the same

Sorry for jumping on your thread Simon... I'm not technical in any sense, so bear with me, lol.  Doesn't removing the centre boxes cause issues with back pressure??  Or have I got that arse about face? :-\

Allegedly, But I've done it in a few cars. As long as you keep the backbox I've never had a problem tbh.
