Overall for a reasonably priced Miggy she doesn't have many issues and has been well looked after. However there are few things I need your collective guru wisdom. So issues. 2000 Facelift 3lt Elite Saloon.
1. Needs a cambelt. I've done one before without the locking tools but I have them now so I'll crack on with that.
2. Rear pads low. No bother I'll sort them
3. Rear eleccy blind ain't playing. Press the button and I can hear a click from a relay in the back by the blind but no movement.
3. Headlight level warning coming up on the display. It comes up constantly but there's no set pattern to it. While driving say a mile sometimes it may pop up once the next mile it's flashing like a christmas tree. It even flashes the warning repeatedly when I was just sat in it on the drive without the engine running but ignition on. The air shocks are working fine. I've sat in the boot and you can hear the compressor running also she is maintaining her ride height after you've switched the car off so doesn't look like I've got a leak. Can't believe it's the same system as my LC. Just the compressor is in a different place.
4. Back box is rotten. I'll wait for it to finally start blowing bad before I sort that. At the moment it just drops condensation. from the joint.
That's it. I'll give her a oil service just because I can (and I've got 20lts of 10/40 semi syn Vx oil cluttering up my garage). So if you lot got some ideas about the headlights and blind and wish to share them with me. Then bring it on 8) 8)

HID level sensor has probably popped off the front n/s wishbone, the air shocks are nothing to do with the HID levelling, they are controlled by a diffrent level sensor. If the level sensor won't stay on you can try using a tie wrap as a temporary measure.
The blind (complete with the parcel shelf it's attached to) will need to be removed and the unit examined, often there are some teeth missing off the drive gear or they have jammed.

H/L warning, check the arm hasn`t popped off on the front sensor, bolted to n/s wishbone.
Blind, get someone to gently give it a helping hand up when you`re pressing button
-
Blind - try pulling it up manually (assisting it) while someone else pushes the button. Once up lubricate (silicon spray ok) and work it up & down a few times.
Headlight field vision warning - usually arm off sensor on front n/s wishbone - snap it back on again. Also try removing electrical plug and spraying plug and socket with contact cleaner. If not could be level motor(s) in lights u/s or duff level sensor. One on back n/s wishbone too. ;)

Cheers guys. I didn't know the headlights had there own sensor. I thought they worked off the air shock one on the back. I did apply some gentle impact adjustment to the blind I also tried to lift it using my hands but couldn't I didn't want to lever it up with a screwdriver. Maybe I'm being just to gentle.

They actually have two ;) There's another one at the back on the near side (the offside is for the self levelling suspension - similar to your LC ;))

Cheers for that. I've just checked the front one and the rod is attached and the plug is spotless on the inside. I just had another go at the blind and I managed to get it to move. It appears somebody must of forced it in the past as Where the cross bar on the offside is fixed at the bottom the bar has snapped so I'm guessing it's history. So I'll have to look at getting another blind. Bum I hat stripping the rear parcel shelf out of saloons.
I'm getting pretty close to that 250 post rule now. Soon I'll be able to ask for lots of bits. Hope you lot aren't hoping for a quiet life :P

Well the blind is now going up and down!!!! However it's very crooked. However with the blind in the up position I've got a fighting chance of fixing the rod. Time to break out my blue peter skills.
