As above - lost the key,so how do I get the locking nuts off without it.Not bothered about wrecking the nuts on the process as long as I get them off. Could possibly order one from VX but wouldnt pay a lot for it,as they are a bit of a shite contraption imo.
Its not then type with 3 irregular pins, its the type with an irregular shaped design the whole way around the nut if that makes sense,or makes any difference to getting them off.
Tia.

Small sharp cold chisel, split the freewheeling collar, hammer undersized socket on nut, undo, seemples :)
-
I think they are called cake cutters
-
Nip to your local tyre garage, hand over a fiver and they'll take them off for you :y
Did that a year or so ago, saves a lot of hassle and grief ;)

any chance of photo ??
I have few different keys

Find someone with a Vauxhall and borrow the key there aren't that many variants. I was lucky when I misplaced mine the guy next door has a Vectra with the same locking wheelnut key. :) :)
-
Tried the one from my saloon,it didnt fit. Will post up a pic tomorrow Serek. :y
Not sure it has a freewheeling collar, will have to check on that. Cant take it to tyre place,it isnt taxed or insured. ;)
-
Confirm there is no "collar" around the outside of the locking wheelnut?
If not, I think I have something that will do the job, Albs. :y

....third and fourth ones will have to wait until my hands get better. ;D

Taking the first two to work tonight with two CDX rims,to swap the tyres over. Will do the other next week when Im at work again.
Dont have room for eight wheels in the car. :)
-
Chiselled the other two collars off today.Hammered socket onto nut on front wheel, off it came.Hammered socket onto nut on rear wheel, socket slipped off - many times.Tried a 16mm socket instead, same result,it wont come off.
Any ideas how to get the remains off ? No point trying a locking key now as the nut isnt fit for purpose.Just need another brute force type idea of how to shift it. :-\

Enough space around the nut to get an Irwin bolt remover on it? Like this:

They've saved my bacon plenty of times.
Failing that, tack a nut on the end of it?

Honestly, pick up an Irwin bolt remover in a suitable size and it'll be off in seconds ;)

It will be a 25 mile round trip to get one though Aaron. Might have to if all else fails. :(
