Title: Downloaded Torque pro...
Post by: Murph on 10 March 2012, 20:46:45
...and got the bluetooth adapter in the post today, so I was ready for some (technogeek) playtime.

Bloody adapter is faulty...... bugger!
My phone connects to it but it will not talk to the ECU, so that'll be going back then.
I suppose it's the price you pay for buying the cheap one. (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320861662775)

Were you trying that on the 2.5?

Yep.
Is this where I find out it's not OBDII compliant?   :-\

*edit* just went and did a (very belated) search and found that it is not compliant.

Should have checked that!

How much did you pay for it Murph?, rather than send it back I was about to order one for a 0420, 0430 code mobile reset on a 3.2.

Might be interested, plus Im suppose to be meeting with PaulK at some point tomorrow.

I paid £11.50 for it.
If you happen to be down Dartford way I'll be happy to pass it on.

I'll be going back to "My Naff Code Reader".

Sounds good to me, hang on to it for 24 hrs, I'll pm you my mob No. later as need to sort out times etc with Paul first.

Chris.

Should have checked that!

:) At least it wasn't too expensive!

Very true.
Could have been a whole lot more expensive so I'll just take it as a lesson to be learnt.

Probably worth mentioning all of the above are free to download from Andriod or the Developers Website, so theres no copyright issues from OOF's point of view.

This (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320861662775?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649) is the one I ordered.
I also downloaded Torque Pro for about £3.
Obviously I didnt get to play with Torque but the interface looks good.  I'm sure there are a few on here who have tried it out.

I bought a bluetooth OBD key after getting an android phone in the new year. It does everything that the Maxiscan I've had for years, plus a load of other stuff. It is a lttle slower in use, though. The only problem I have with it is that I've nearly left in a customer's car on several occasions!
At £15 for the adapter and £5 for the app it's a damn good deal. I'd recommend one to anyone who has a compliant car and to keep it in the glovebox.
