Title: 2.6 v6 parts
Post by: johnmc7 on 12 March 2012, 22:46:51
hi all, my first post.
where is the best place to get parts for my omega, local motor factors or is there good online part shops etc.
also i am doing alot of reading up on the auto box on these cars.
the car i have is a x goverment car with a full service history, 162000 miles and going like a clock.
she is the elite model. the service history only shows the gearbox oil being changed once, would it be good idea to change it now
and hope it is ok.

John,

Welcome to the forum. Some really valuable advice and support available on here.

In aswer to your question, if you look at the home page towards the bottom, you'll see recommended suppliers. Contact Andy for all your genuine Vauxhall parts.

Take time to trawl through previous posts and you'll be able to make your mind up on using aftermarket parts available from Ebay to your local motor factors.

I'll bow out now to allow people who know to advise you re gearbox oil change.

All the best

Some parts should always be genuine Vauxhall.I delve around the forum and a few questions as and when should keep you informed about that. Parts which arent too bulky and/or needed same day can be bought for special rates from AndyC who works for Vauxhall and can be contatced via the forum.
Parts which dont need to be genuine are a bit different. There is consensus through experience on the best sources for certain items, and also various opinions about others. If in doubt, just ask. :y

Welcome mate. You're in the right place for proper help and advice. As said, have a good look around the forum. Use the search facility and the maintenance guides, but most of all don't be afraid to ask questions  :y
