Bugger I have been tidying up the towbar wiring this afternoon it had been connected using scotch locks I also swapped the flasher beeper as the one that was fitted only beeped on one side this was all working ok then I started the enginge and I now have the eml on straight away then a short while later the TC light comes on and the car goes in to limp mode
I have not looked at the codes yet mainly because Idont know how to do it so going to have to take the laptop out with me and try to see what codes it has
Question is if it had old codes in how will I know which are the new ones how long are codes stored for ?
I have diconnected all of the tow bar wiring too see if it cleared the problem but it didnt
Will the limp mode self reset or does it need to go on T2 to clear this ?

Done anything that could cause different loading on brake lights?
Clear the codes, see what returns. If stuck, you know where I am

Sorry, your first post implied you had a code reader. Virtually all code readers should be able to clear them,
Failing that, more than happy to clear them for you, but my availability is touchy for about 10 days :-[

No I dont have a code reader yet ;D
I have had a go at the pedal trick and have come up with 1700 Service vehicle soon request from transmission control module
and 0500 vehicle speed sensor malfunction B-009
Is this just coincidence that they have come up or could I have upset something by doing the towbar wiring sems a little odd if it did but knowing my luck I wouldnt be suprised :y

OK, in this case, lets clear out all the codes in all the ECUs, so you know what is new, and what is an old (presumably fixed) problem.

The car is feeling much better to drive now not sure what you did (other than find the blown fuse ) but your magic worked wonders again

The fuse was the cause of the limp, and the ABS/TC lights, and the EML. Looked again at wiring diagrams, still not entirely sure how/why it blew, suspect you may have caught the reverse wire when you rejigged it, although its not clear if that would blow the fuse. I did put a spare 10A in your fusebox, but might be worth carrying a few, in case there is something else causing it to blow.
Whilst I had the laptop out, I slapped on the latest gearbox firmware. Your engine firmware was already up to date. Climate firmware also updated. Other than that, just cleared out all the codes, so anything that comes back is a real fault. Certainly nothing discovered to cause concern, apart from that key needs resyncing.

I wont bother touching the towbar wiring until your around again just in case I do it again
But thank you again and if you need to dump the dishwasher it will fit in the back of mine ;D

Well I decided to reconnect the towbar 12s and 12n sockets this afternoon I have wired it back up and every thing is working on both sockets :)
So no idea how I managed to blow the fuse last time
