Hi peeps, whilst towing a transit my handbrake cable decided to snap itself. I can tell that the right side must've come off the compensator bar by corrosion/snapping/undoing or whatever, I haven't been under yet. The left side is holding it, just, as the tension on the cabvle is obviously greatly reduced and the lever travel has greatly increased.
Where's the best place, and cheapest to get a new set of rear cables. I've seen some inc compensator bar for £30. Is that any good? Thanks peeps :y

Try your local factors, last one I bought (which is two cables and the bar) was sub twenty quid.

I did the cable on my MFL some time ago, and although I didn't pay as much as that, prices may have gone up (like everything else!!). It also came with the compensator bar and the two cables attached. Bought from my local motor factors :y

Put a new one on the Estate a while back, very simple job, used a pattern part from a motor factors.

Got one from a factors, £33, £3 more than eBay, but quicker. Fitted now. There's a job I don't want to do again. Better than manifold gasket I suppose. Handbrake lovely and tight now. Realised you can actually reach the compensator bar without talking heatshields off, bonus! Bad neck now though!
