Title: Anyone fixing thier facelift heated seats?
Post by: feeutfo on 15 March 2012, 17:06:16
Lincs Robert kindly sent me a piece of loom with plug and switch for testing heated seats out of the car. Mine are now fixed, thanks to him and major help from Mr and Mrs TB and thier kitchen floor.

Another member now has the loom, so if anyone needs it once he's finished, then please shout and he can send it to you direct, rather than back to me or Robert and waisting postage.

Bit late now winters nearly over, but we still get cold mornings.

This allows you to fire up the heated seats(or not) via a spare battery and test the circuits out of the car. Much easier.

Anyone interested stick you name below.  :y

One was the element. re soldered.

The other was a failed controller unit in the base. TB soldered in another from a breaker and all worked fine.

What a good idea! Not sure I could manage mine on my own, plus I don't have a soldering iron  :-[
But I'm sure others will take you up on the offer  :y

Glad it came in use Chris ...... :y

I've actually got a pair of FL MV6 cloth seats going spare - so perhaps someone could take them off my hands and they could be used as part of "loan while you mend" scheme.

I was going to put them in my MFL Elite but frankly can't be bothered - so they have to go. This is all part of my mega clearout of the garage which has seen masses of stuff get junked.

It does make it very simple to test the seats when out of the car, shame gayboygixer forgot the rather thing when we did his 2nd seat ;D

I keep meaning to tart up the guide with some measurements, and a procedure when I get time.
