Title: 2.2 dti turbo not coming in

not on a omega though  its a mates vectra c 2.2 dti sri  today i did his rear trailing arms  took it for a run and the knocking has gone but noticed his turbo doesnt work  car still drives ok just obviously no guts  no eml light and no smoke even when revved hard  although there is a whistling sound happens around the time the turbo should kick in   am i right in thinking probably a split intercooler hose or one of the vac pipes leaking  thanks

Aye I'd be starting with looking for a leak. If you can hear the whistle at least that tells you the turbos doing something.

thanks doz  im not really clued up on diesels but will have a go at fixing it for him :y

bit of a update  intercooler hose had a split in it  replaced the hose and now pulls very well   and i now own it as my mate was given a car last night for free off his mum a 57 plate fiesta  so he gave me the vectra happy days  few little bits and bobs to sort out and will make a nice daily runner being a diesel
