I can't stand the sulphory after taste of cider caused by the sodium metabisulphide that is used as a preservative in some make of cider.

Yeah, been there. More than once ::)

Trouble is, my beard wasn't long enough, and I don't wear socks and sandles, so I wasn't welcome ;)

I'll have you know I spent a lovely afternoon enjoying their hospitality and I am clean shaven and do not posses a pair of sandals. The beer gut was sufficient proof of entitlement in my case. :y
