Over the years I have had a few different makes, Bell, Kiwi, Simpson, RST. The RST is a few years old and being fair gets quite a bit of wind noise. I went on an hour and a half run and my ears felt like I had been in a nightclub when I got off.....
I have been looking at the new Shoei Noetec and to be honest it is a nice helmetr but have decided on a Schuberth C3 which is really quite :y so need to get a few miles in whilst the sun has got HIS hat on :) :D :y

Suomy Vandal Troy Bayliss replica. Also have an old Aria which I keep for pillions.
-
I've always had a Shoei head up until last year when for the first time ever I got a Arai which fitted me. I'd still have a Shoei I just liked the look of the Arai and with it's Phil Read replica pant work and a black visor it looks the mutts
-
Mine's Shoei ............ no idea of the model ???
-
Shoei. Only one that fits.
Agv don't make one big enough ;D
Arai do but my head is the wrong shape. Most people have either Arai or Shoei shaped heads.
Noise is always an issue. Constant on and off action means the foam pads under the ears don't sit as snug to the neck as they should. Too tight and it's painfull on your ears to take on and off. Too loose and you go def quicker.
Kagayama rep btw.

Big headed bugger! ::) ::) ::) ::)
There weren't many that fitted me either ............... ;) ;) ;)

My impressive full head of hair, of course.

stick with the bell darling its you :-* :-*
-
I thought you'd be partial to a pink helmet youth ::) ;D
Chris, i'm surprised you can't get an AGV big enough. Mines an AGV and i've got a horses head ;D

God know how old my crash helmet is. It was a hand me down from my brother when he did MotoX. He is allways said it was not for road use as it failed the spike test at the time. I imagine it is from the mid to late 80s is full face and I wear MotoX goggles with it.
Please don't tell me I should have a new one every year or two, sick of hearing it from family and friends. it matches my bike perfecrtly.
-
Caberg V2R f/face, Caberg Trip, and an LS2 (still 4*)....... i like helmets :-*
-
As a former biker, never compromise on a cheap skid lid & try and buy the best you can afford :y Seen to many accidents with bikers with inferior & old damaged helmets :'(
As the saying goes 'Keep em peeled for Bikers' :y
-
Get some foam ear plugs. They take out all the wind noise but you can still hear through them :y
Apparently the wind noise at 70mph is as bad as standing next to a pneumatic drill, but sustained! It will damage your hearing!
-
Shoei helmet for me too. Very comfy and being black with a tinted visor, looks damn good, if I say so myself ::) :)

I got myself some musicians earplugs for use in the MR2 for just that reason - roof down, 70mph, you get to the other end half deaf..
-
used to have a shoei when i was despatching years ago....bought a caberg justissimo gt xxl and have used it once ..don't ride no more
-
Griffin Clubman. Time for a change perhaps. ::) ::) ;)
-
Shoei here too, tried others with the built in sun visor thing that retracts, but were not very nice to wear.
No idea on noise compared to others, I really should try some to see if they are any better.
-
Does anybody here still wear the old "pisspot" open face? I always cringe when I see them. I just imagine ya chin grinding away along the tarmac as you surf face down along the road :(
-
When I got back into biking after a 20 year break, I dug my old Lazer full face out of the attic as an interim till I got a new lid. On my first run out on my new bike however the lining started to disintegrate at about 70mph, and I had bits of foam flying around inside!! :o
I decided to test the strength of my 20 year old helmet and put the sledgehammer into it!! and it took alot of punishment until it finally cracked and broke! :)
My current helmet is a HJC, light, comfortable and good value. :y

They must come with an anti-nod sticker, never had a Harley owner give me the nod when I'm about. Its not a BMW thing either as they never done it when i was on the Yam, miserable gits!

Try riding a trail bike and you will call all other bikers except 16 year olds miserable gits. Because most weekend warriors don't even know what a trail bike is, and yet they tell me they been riding for decades the sad gits.

I get the same response from BMW owners most of the time tbh.I will nod at anyone on two wheels apart from those riding vespa/lambretta hairdryers. They just dont count. ;D

Same!
Maybe some don't nod back because I'm the one on a BMW ;D
-
Still wear a open face helmet when i'm riding in classic trials, couldn't have ciggie in the middle of the stage otherwise ;D
-
Never wear one - would feel a bit of a pratt wearing one in the car ???
-
AVG, before that Griffin Clubman which had to be replaced as lining was falling apart. ::) ::) ::)
AVG has lost one of the top air vents, but besides that good helmet. I now always wear ear plugs, as AVG much noisier than the Clubman. Without the earplugs than after about 35 miles ear ring, which is bad news. :( :( :(
I know somebody who went deaf in their 40's from working in a noisy factory environment and the amount of problems it causes him, it is best avoided. :o :o :o
Riding a sports bike as I've got older I'm finding wrists ache after about 50 miles. :-[ :(
