What work did they do?

the engine blew a head gasket. so he needed to get head skimmed etc. he decided to change all fan belt, therostat, fuel pump, water pump etc.
when they got car running it would not rev out.

he has even put in another engine to try and solve problem.

everything seems to working ok but at high revs sounds like it is starting to flood itself but all presures are fine and no codes are coming up.

Have you tried the paper clip test for any codes stored?

I had a similar problem with another car and it turned out I miss-timed the cams by one tooth....

the boy fixing it had it linked up to a reader and said there was no codes. i was only down with them an hour and they got no where. so i said i would come on here and see if any answers.

all i know is car is not limiting and they have tried everything they can think to fix it.

Is it an air leak, so the multi-rams are not working properly. I had a problem when one of the rubber pipes, connecting a vacuum pipe had perished and split. Likewise the engine would not rev to red line.

Mine was caused where there is a T piece connecting 3 pipes together, by the radiator. I bought 1m of length of rubber pipe off fleabay for about £1 and replaced with about a 50mm length from that. It also cured the engine's tickover hunting a bit.

I hope this is of help?
