Hi Guys,
Finally got the 2.2 DTi fixed the oil leak and goes like sh#t off a shovel, but it feels proper bad in the corners low speed its not very noticable but higher speeds e.g. 55 - 70 it feels like it steering on its own in the corner its really REALLY disconcerting, can anyone help it doesent knock and the steering is very light
Cheers

An Omega is a motorway cruiser, not a sports car. ;) ;) ;)

True, but if you can't hustle it along a back road at a reasonable pace something's wrong. Especially as a DTi will be manual so no need to worry about random gear changes. ;)
I would say front wishbone bushes, steering idler, rear doughnut bushes need checking for starters (if front wishbone is the culprit, poly bush it). Tyres. What tyres is it running and are they coming to the end of their lives? This can make them tramline. Then think about how old the shocks are. If the mileage is high and they are original...

They're a wallowie barge in standard form, but they can be transformed.
My DTi is ok & I have every confidence in him when I chuck it into a corner. Scraping my mud flaps is a regular thing ;D ;D

Even with Elite suspension, it can be quite capable in bends. Yeah, a lot of initial body roll before the dual rate springs kick in, but surprisingly good.
Worn suspension and/or unsuitable tyres I'd look first. Possibly worth programming the steering to be heavier //TB ponders if DTi has servotronic...

Don't think so. I was Tech2'ing one yesterday, though. Could have checked. ::)
Turning the servotronic assistance down a notch certainly inspires more confidence.
Better still, go the 2Woody route and keep the servotronic unit in the glove box. ;D

I think, on gayboy's, we've had to knock up to maximum assistance, as his is quite strange....

It depends on the model, my Elite DTi has servotronic but Mrs VXL's CD estate doesn't.

Weird, traditionally it was done on engine spec...

Right all cured now thanks to stupidly low/high pressures and tracking being miles out now all checked and aligned she goes fantastic :)
Untill the next problem :y
