Title: Swaping NCDC for 2006
Post by: zirk on 02 April 2012, 21:16:33
Looking at removing 2015, Telematics and GID in favor of 2006 and MID on a 3.2 that was factory fitted in 2001, all non Bose.

Whats the chance of a straigth swop with the wiring, or easy mods or just a non starter.

Thanks Chris.   :-\

2 wires from MID to stalk, and a 3rd from an grounding point behind the dash to the stalk.

I'll dig out pins if thats the line you are going down.

Fingers work, mobile works, brain works most of time, its the getting it to happen together, multitasking, that lets me down.

Any reason why you'd do this swap? Just curious

Ok, being serious now, where doing a wacky rally to Barcelona for Help the Hero's, at the moment its a toss up between sending  a 3.0 Ex plod manual or a 3.2 Auto, so will be Tom Tom most of way as the NCDC isnit working as it should and does not cover up to date Europe.

Hmmm....   i have a home looking for a telematics.....   ;)

i also have a spare NCDC2013 with working Nav, paired with a working GID ,  but buggered CDC   with the pass code.....

(and a not particluarly good facia...   it likes to jump off..... unless you're careful about how you fit it..    )

if it's of any use in making it all fully functional....  you're welcome to nab it.

Stalk has 3 connections:

A - R
D - S
C - Common

(use meter to determine)

A goes to MID, PIN 23
D goes to MID, PIN 24
C goes to a suitable 0v, there is one behind dash.
