Title: Which Exhaust?
Post by: cleggy on 03 April 2012, 12:42:35
Looking to get a new exhaust shortly, Eternalcar or Neu-Car-Parts re quality and noise?

Eternal seem a bit complicated having to order seperate sections whereas with Neu you just order the whole system with the prices roughly comparable.

Opinions please :y

Agreed. Eternal are a known quantity here, and I very much doubt you could find better.

Go to anyone else.. you might well find it's timax / bosal rubbish.

Cheers you two :y :y :y

I have finally sussed out  Eternalcar's WEB site and I think I need the following for a 2001 2.6 Estate for Cats back:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190466458836?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648  X2

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190466458888?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648    X1

Get the mountings from a main dealer.

Are the centre sections left and right? I presume  they will send the correct bits if so.

That one is for a saloon, its very easy to make wrong choice, I did same & ordered a 2.2 Estate system for my 2.2 LPG  :(

Previous posts have indicated that the tube angles are all wrong if you try and fit a saloon exhaust to estate (or vice versa).. you're right though, they don't list an estate back box :(

Yeah the angles are off with Estate to saloon boxes. You can see here the estate centre section on the saloon is all wrong:

Email Eternal, they are quite helpful, but take a day to respond.  The only time they are not helpful is knowing when out of stock parts will be in...

I just went the Eternal route and the quality of the centre boxes is impressive compared to some of the others I have seen.

I had exactly the same issue fella - had a saloon back box to fit to my estate (breakwit brother in law). Both pipes were correct bore and pitch but the offset was way out. Seen as I was due away with the caravan the next day I spent about 3 hrs with an Oxy set and vice heating and bending to fit. Was a bitch of a job but got there in the end (albeit had to grind off a couple of hangers). Does seem that Eternal is the way to go :y

I've ordered enough stuff from them over the last 2 or 3 years, never had a problem...

This is the reply I got from Eternalcar

If you have BOSAL reference numbers, please provide us with them as it is the quickest way to check if we have the correct replacement parts.

Can anyone help with these please ;)
