Title: Advice on changing a bootlid
Post by: PAULCDX on 09 April 2012, 17:36:50
Hi all,

Recently purchased a replacement bootlid for my Omega saloon and was wondering how difficult it is to replace? Any wires need cutting or replacing?

If anybody has any pics or diagrams that would be fantastic  :y

Thanks in advance  :y

Paul

Undo torx holding inner grab handle. Pop off the retainers holding carpet on lid. Top L/H of lid (when open) through the cutout there`s a multi-connector. Release and pull cabling down through lid. Two bolts either side of lid, release the struts. Job done. I do it on me tod but it`s easier with a second pair of hands

Hi Rob,

Thanks for that, it doesn't sound to difficult even for someone like me  ;D

I will give that a go, didn't even think to take the carpet off  ::)

Not too bad I'd have thought... just easier to do the job with two people so as to lessen the risk of scratching any bodywork.
I've managed to remove two estate tailgates single handedly, well I used a pair, and I'm not exactly a body builder type!
