When driving, er, briskly, there seems to be a flat spot around 4000rpm, which IIRC is the revs that the multirams activate? Once I've fitted my spangly new exhaust, I'll be investigating - after checking the vacuum pipes routing and fit, anything else I should be looking for?

Flat spot... Or a step?
IME multi ram failed feels flat below 4k then takes off above 4k.
If a genuine flat spot, I'd check cam timing and for.... Maybe a Blocked exhaust. See what happens I guess. :)

Genuine flat spot - pulling through from 50 leptons* up through 3rd to 85 leptons, it pulls, then flattens about 3900-4000rpm, then pulls again.
*unit of speed, not dissimilar to MPH but on a *cough* private road....

worth trying to actuate them both using software to see if working OK?

That would be brilliant, sadly I don't think anyone has a Tech2 within 100 miles.
On the note of the blocked exhaust, I'll be taking it out tonight so will see if the new one has had any effect.

Is it just a split second of a flat spot then it goes again?
If so this is as the dual ram comes in and is normal on the v6's. If its more than a split second will be something within the dual ram system holding it back i.e. broken vac pipe or faulty valve etc.
