Title: Battery question
Post by: D on 13 April 2012, 19:07:28
So needed a battery for the 3.2 Elite. Using info from here got one from TC

3.2i 24v V6 - Y32SE  65 AMP  93189923  £72.50  £66.35  £54.46

But when I got to replacing the battery, the old one was different. Seems you can fit this one as well.

3.2i 24v V6 - Y32SE   70 AMP   9201470   £94.00   £86.02   £66.65

That was the one that was already in the car.
So have I missed a trick by not buying the slightly more powerful one, or is the smaller battery good enough?

Secondly I need one for my 03 2.2 sport as well. which one is the correct one to buy? Help. Sometimes TC can be more confounding than helpful. I guess the above 65amp one will fit, but what is the cheapest one I could get away with. Only asking as I may be moving the 2.2 on soon and dont want to spend too much on a battery if I am going to sell soon.

I always bung the biggest I can fit in there. Think it can handle 80AH with no trouble but best check with someone on here first.

Fairly sure from memory 65ah is correct for the Elite

65Ah will be fine, and was the factory fit battery in my 3.2. The bigger one is not worth the extra money for 5Ah.

Our 2x DTi's and V6 have the 70AH ones fitted so the lesser used one in the V6 gets swapped around (when I rememeber....  ::)), the jacket will still fit the 70AH ones as well.
