Title: Question about the Omega B camshaft sensor (New sensor, but problem still is)
Post by: supersaw on 14 April 2012, 11:56:59
Hi ;)
I have Omega B, 95' 2ltr 16v.
I have a problem, my rev limiter was @ 4.500.
The diagnostic show that the problem was with the camshaft sensor. I changed it. But the problem still is....rev limiter @4.500....
New Camshaft sensor is not from GM.
Do I need to reset errors manual or the car cpu see that automatically ?
Thanks for the help ;)

Not from GM
Thats the problem ... cheap pattern parts  :-\
Unless theres damage to the wiring .
If the camshaft code is still there replace with genuine GM .

Also worth rescanning just incase the crankshaft sensor is on it's way as well.

So I need to re scan /reset errors? Ecu doesn't automatically see a new sensor ?

If the fault is " cured " the ecu will put the light off .
There must still be a problem so get it re scanned to rule out something else before replacing any more parts .

Need to scan, clear and rescan to see if any codes come back.

copys dont work, will make engine stay the same has to be original gm one and has to be first type some of these copys are the second type that may work on a 98 mig but not for long.

It is ok. Problem is fixed. I just waited a little bit longer when removed clamps from accumulator. And now I don't see any attention signs.
