Title: Bumper
Post by: Ralph on 14 April 2012, 17:06:57
After a run in with a Badger I've lost the tow eye cover on the front bumper.
As the car is an MV6 it seems I've little chance of getting a replacement.
Prodrive have non left, I've emailed Vx customer services but they don't seem to know what bumper is fitted to the car nor does the local dealer.

Question is does anyone know if the the lower grille from a different model bumper will fit ?

Thanks

If its the towing eye cover for a facelift MV6 bumper they're as rare as hens teeth, you might be better off buying a complete bumper

Ouch!! what bad luck
Any F/l front  bumper will fit
I'll have one spare in about 2 months
Im about to change miggy's to a Prodrive one
Colours Z158(oyster)
Will need the H/Light Washer Jets off it and also the Parking Sensors
I think if your patient the full Prodrive bumper comes up from time to time(how I got mine)
Seem to remember the MV6 doesn't have parking sensors
Could be you'll be better off with the Std one off a model without parking sensors
Another alternative would be haveing a mould made from a genuine one
Then should be easy enough to have one made up from GRP

Another easier option could be:-
Forget about the Towing Eye facility
(Plenty of Tow Points under front of car)
Bond a GRP matt on to the back face of the bumper to cover the hole
Then use body filler or GRP to form a fixed panel to replicate the shape of the R/h bumper side
Spray and jobs done
If your stuck
Should be an easy enough job for a decent body shop :y

I've never seen an Omega with parking sensors fitted to the front bumper as standard Cliff.  :-\
