It was quite damp on roads around location I had this on another Vauxhall found out it being one of the injectors was not connected properly at the electrical connectors on the injector rail be good to know which one did you do tinkering today have you knocked something :-[

Hi just been out to the car again, read the codes it gave me 0300 +0302. On the way to winchester it rained but not to heavy. on the way home nice and dry. I did not have any thing done today a part from a code read from kevin and there was no codes stored.

Thats cylinder 2.....could be just a plug gone down.

Exact same on my mates vaux check electrical connectorson the injectors not come loose :y
-
Hi I have just had the plugs done about a month ago by jamesv6 would there have gone already??
-
No, but there may well be water dripping on bank 2 from the scuttle.
Night be worth a hose pipe test. Oh actually better make that a watering can. ;)
-
I did have water coming thru the rubber at the bottom of the windscreen when the car was worked on but i sealed the windscreen right across the car. would it get in from somewhere else and what do i need to change now. A plug or something else.cheers Paul

Spray water on the screen with the bonet open and you,ll be able to see for yourself. One way or another.
-
If the plugs were done the other day it's probably not that......re what chris is saying if your car is the same as mine you will have a foam pad just above the coil pack plug on the scuttle, this gets sodden with water and drips onto the plug.
-
If it's not water, then the next thing to do it whip the coil pack out and check for oil in the plug wells caused by a leaking cam cover gasket. :y

If looking at the engine from the front bumper is that over the right had side(passenger side)
-
yep.....follow the coil pack back to the plug.

Were genuine GM gaskets used?
-
Yes all gm parts used.

Good work mate. I'd still recommend taking out the coil pack and checking the plug wells. Any water or oil should be fairly easy to see. :y
-
Will i need to change the coil pack if i find water in there
-
Any water running down from the scuttle will drip straight on to the plug on the 2-4-6 coil pack. When you pull the coil pack out, spray some WD40 on to both the plug and the coil pack. :y
On the coil pack itself, any damage such as rust or cracking will be obvious underneath it. :-\
HTH, Al.

Not necessarily, try a night in the airing cupboard first, and make sure that the plug is completely dry before refitting. If water there then the scuttle needs sealing up as per the guide. :y
-
Can i get the coil pack out easy or do i need to take everthing off
-
Two bolts that hold the cable tray to the plenum, then two bolts hold it it place, lift out and unplug :y
It is a bit fiddly, and you may need to unplug the plug at the back of the plenum and disconnect the vac pipe to the brake servo if they're in the way :-\ just be doubly sure to reconnect everything afterwards :y

Thanks for that just another quick question. will a coil pack from a 3lt 2001 omega fit my car
-
I don't think it will the 3.0 ltr 2001 I think has one coil for all six cylinders not sure though perhaps someone can confirm.....

NO :'(, in a word.
2.6 and 3.2 only both have a coil pack for each head and no plug leads. 2.5 and 3.0 have ONE pack and plug leads. :y
P.S. the plug for the 2-4-6 coil pack sits in just the right place to get dripped on from the scuttle. The water then runs along the coilpack seal and into the plug wells. As your misfire is at pot 2 the problem is probably at the plug. For enough water to get to plug 2, you would definitely have had a misfire at pots 6 and 4 first. :-\ Also the coil packs are handed left and right :y
-
What Al said. Gotta learn to type quicker! ::)
-
Just my luck. cheers guys. will let you know the out come
-
When you check the coil pack change the plugs around and see if the code changes cylinders......just a thought.
-
