Title: Irmscher front bumper fitted to my estate
Post by: twiglet on 14 April 2012, 19:26:37
I was going to wait until I had given the car a good wash and polish before I posted some pics, but I think she's looking pretty good, so I thought I'd share a couple of pics.  All comments welcome (as long as they are nice ones!)  :y

Looking really good James.   :y.
I'll have a proper look at Billing but I might not be so keen to park next to you this year for a twins photo.  ;) ;D :y
You've done a great job there with the choice of wheels and all.  :y

Regards
Alan

Thanks for all the positive comments folks, much appreciated!  :y

All you need is the rest of the kit to go with it. ;)

I've got a set of Irmscher sideskirts here Chris, but I'm undecied as to whether to fit them or not.  Although I think the saloons look awesome with the full kit on, I really do not like the Irmscher rear bumper on the estate.  I think the area immediately below the tailgate is way to fussy, especially with parking sensors, and the tailgate moulding is way too OTT.  Plus I use my towbar way to much to do away with it, and I wouldn't want to have to cut the bumper.

So I think I'm going to run her like this for a while, and see how I feel later in the year.  :y

Well, if you decide NOT to fit them, I know of a 3.2 elite that would like them snuggled up against her bodywork  ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

The problem with just the front bumper is that it sits a lot lower than the rest of the car. Particularly viewed side on it looks like something is incompete, if you know what I mean.

I am just getting used to and starting to like the irmscher front bumper. But I find the rest of the kit especially the side skirts and the rear a bit OTT. Its a bit too wavy and chavvy. Too max powerish for my liking.

This car does look very nice. Are those Stila alloys available in an Omega size/width/ET?

Bob Dents car looked great with air dan and skirts, and stock rear bumper, IMO. I'm sure you've seen that?

Still think mv6 lsc suspension would be the way forward by the way. :)

I suspect the skirts will look good when fitted (I agree about the irmscher rear bumper btw) but the only way to find out is to fit them and see if you like them.If not,its not the biggest job to take them off again. ;)

That's a bit of an illusion to be honest.  The Irmscher front bumper is only very marginally closer to the ground than a standard bumper.  It just appears lower because its all body colour, whereas the standard bumper has the rubber skirt underneath.  Also, the Irmscher side skirts are no deeper than standard skirts.  Again, it's just a optical illusion.  :y

The Stila wheels on my car are the correct size/width/ET for an Omega, as listed on the Irmscher website.  :y

Yeah I have seen Bob's old car up close, and I agree it looked spot on!  :y

Agree with you on the lsc suspension too Chris.  I've priced it up with AndyC, and it isn't cheap!  :o  But it's definately on the shopping list.  :y
