Title: swap ccr600 to ccr2006?
Post by: Rich-K on 18 April 2012, 13:03:38
I have a ccr600 with glove box mounted cdc3 (cd not working). Can any one tell is it possible to swap the complete sytem for ccr2006. Do I need any extras like adapters. Will the steering wheel controls still work?

CCR600 is a single DIN unit, CCR2006 is double DIN unit.

electrically, it can be converted from 26 pin ISO to 36 pin Mini ISO, but as pointed out above, you are going to need to take an Axe to the dash, as they are different physical sizes

However, if you have a CCR2006, you can always retro fit the CDC section into the CDC3, making sure you retain the original vertical PCB form the original unit - Easy conversion !!

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate the units are different sizes physically. Would I be right in thinking the cdc from the 2006 will connect to the existing ccr600?

Yep, just a case of removing your CDC3 from it`s casing and replacing with a working one but as Dave says, you need to fit your vertical PCB to the replacement
