Hi guys,
just wondered which photo hosting sites are the most popular on here? I've been using photobucket but I'm not too keen on the fact that the link gives access to all your pictures. Any suggestions for easy to use ones that only allow the chosen pics to be viewed?
Cheers Jim

I use www.photobucket.com works for me :y
-
All I'd say is that of you have albums you want private I think you can apply a password so they remain private?
Photobucket used to offer that not sure if its now limited to full members?

I use www.photobucket.com works for me :y
Agreed
-
I think the point that mijfife is making is that photobucket allows access to all of your pics

Yep Bo Bo, that was the point i was trying to make :) I know it's easy to use, even for someone as computer illiterate as me, but I'm looking for something that I can control the pics I was to show to different people, if such a thing exists.
Cheers Jim

Photobucket Account Features and Image Management
Q: How much disk space and bandwidth do I get?
A: Currently, Free accounts get 1 GB of space and 10 GB of bandwidth per month. Pro accounts are allowed up to 5 GB of disk space and have bandwidth restrictions lifted. Please see Upgrade for more details..
Q: How do I allow friends & family to view my album?
A: In your 'Account Options', you can make your album public or you can set a 'read-only' or 'guest' password. Please make sure that your 'guest' password is different from your main password.
You can use the 'Invite Guest' feature or give out the URL for your album (also found in your 'Account Options'). Please see our tutorial on Account Options for more details.

The bucket is usually the best. Not used it myself but everyone i know that doesn't have almost unlimited hosting at their disposal raves about it.

youll get webspace with your provider, i use my own webspace seeing as i pay for it and its just sitting there. i think you get about 50 meg with mine (tiscali) - have total control over the html and javascipt, pictures everything really. just need a free FTP tool and there are a few available from CNET etc. easy peesy.

Apart from learning about omegas, I'm getting a lot of great help with my PC as well. Cheers guys. :y
PS. Since I joined the forum, my one-fingered typing skills have improved beyond recognition as well (gotta be quick with you fellas) ;D

Just had a play with photobucket and found out how to control which pictures I show.
First, you tick the box under each picture you want to show.
Then click on the box at the bottom ( Generate HTML and IMG code)
Next, go for the fourth box down (IMG, images for message boards)
Simply copy and paste the links from this box into your message and up they come :)
e.g. (http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l193/mijfife/head003.jpg)
If I can do it, it must be easy ;D ;D
Thanks for the help, especially to Andy for pointing me towards the tutorial section!
Cheers Jim

So far I am the only one who uses Imageshack? :o
And what is the 'other'?

I had to vote for "I don't post pictures" 'cos I must be the only one on here that doesn't possess a digital camera - still use an old fashion one with film :-[ Suppose I'll get round to getting one sometime.

Get Supermop to show you how a scanner works then you can play too. :y

You're not wrong there Captain :y The bloody little sod knows far too much but comes in damn handy at times ;) He's actually gone for his second interview with Rackspace (a huge data centre in London) today which will involve sorting out and maintaining their IT systems (if he gets the job).
He'll be on a fortune if he gets it too - means he can start paying me back for all the years I've kept him!! :y ;D ;D
-
Lets hope I get the job then. You realise it would mean I'm moving to Uxbridge :D
Already found a new local pub!! ;D
