I have always replaced Omega front pads with TC ones (as well as TC disk and pad set), and rear pads with motor factor ones.

Have always copperslipped backs of all pads and mating slides (as well as on other Vx and non Vx cars over many years), and have never suffered from brake squeal.  Copperslipping was not done to prevent sqeal though rather to "lubricate" & "prevent corrosion/sticking" and have always cleaned up caliper slides first and removed any high spots from pad slides before sparingly coppersliping and fitting.

Its bollux to infer squeal is caused by sensible copperslipping.

Buy Genuine VX..Especially if you have a T/Card as they are a good price too.

There have been issues with tc pads in the trade club disc and pad set. Squeal, dead pedal, to name but two.

Trade club pads on thier own "seem" to be ok. Can't complain at £14 a set.

(although oe new stock give far better feel IMO, but they are far very expensive)
