Title: ICV / revs question
Post by: tigers_gonads on 23 April 2012, 13:01:20
I've just fitted one that has been sat in a box for 3 years.
It looked pretty clean but when I start the engine from cold, the revs are sitting around 500 rpm and when warmed threw, the instant mpg is a little high at 0.4 - 0.5 g/mile .

Have checked for air leaks and non found so i'm thinking that the icv is a little stiff.
I have no 3in1 oil or similar so will a squirt of plus gas do the job ?

Plus gas might help release the valve but it will eventually dry out, so be sure to get some 3in1 or gun oil asap.
