Just re-read (for the millionth time :D ) this omega-page http://www.senatorman.de/opel_omega_b.htm (http://www.senatorman.de/opel_omega_b.htm)
It says that an Omega consists of ca 8000 parts and for facelift exactly 3000 of these were redesigned. Quite a lot IMHO
Altogether 600 000 pre-facelift Omegas produced, including Cateras, 55% in Germany, 22% in UK. In UK 75% of these were saloon.

Just seen on the website an Omega with a V8, was this put into production anywhere in the world?

I think a couple were produced as concept cars, but they cancelled te car because of cooling issues.

A V8 was fitted to the Omega A for the south American market. I wonder if the same was carried out for the B model

No. V8 Omega was never in production. They however did build "0-series", dunno how many in total but enough to do all crash tests, durability tests etc so I assume tens. Where are they nowadays?
