Has anybody weighed in any alloy wheels recently?
Just trying to gauge what people are getting in scrap value... my local scrappy is paying £5 each with tyres, £7 each without.

I was getting 8 quid (without) before christmas.
I'd shop around ;)

If you knock out the steel ferrels where the wheel nuts go they fetch more as pure ally

I got £38 for four MFL Elite 16" alloys £1 per kg at a scrap metal yard rather than a car scrap yard. That was about a month/6 weeks ago

That's exactly what I've got to get rid of Andy. I've got a contact at a metal recyclers that buys my cats, so worth a go.
Did you also have to knock the ferrels out? How does one go about this? :-\

I never gave them a thought, just put the rims on his weigh scales, he never said anything about them. The only thing he did commented on, was I should've removed the balance weights. Ooops! ::)

Get your Mate to chuck the alloys in the bailing machine, you don't need to worry about 'ferrels', balancing weight or tyres then.

Hmm. I've got a (rather bent) alloy in the garage. ::)
