Hi guys
Im wondering, im looking at changing the coolant thermostate, these open at 92 degrees on the v6,s but my car is used alot for sort runs, so temp never reaches full, car is drinking fuel, was thinking of putting a lower opening to combat this but unable to find any information, would of thought that the opel omegas would have a different state due to colder climates, have check cam timing, this is fine using the correct cam timing tool, any ideas guys ??? ???

sorry I don't think the logic works
lower opening stat - say 88 deg, means it will never reach full temp even on a longer run!
certainly will not help it get up to temp quicker

It won't drink any less fuel with a cooler thermostat.
Should hit normal temperature (just below mid point on the gauge) within a couple of miles. If it doesn't, then the thermostat might well be knackered. Fitting a cooler one won't help, though.

thanks for the replys, just thought if the coolant sencer recieves the water sooner from the thermostate it would stop the ecu running the car on so called choke or high fuel delivery, ok then changing the state to the correct one, thanks again for the replys :y
