I came across this photo the other day and it's circa 1987 I think.....

The thing is.... were we as outraged by petrol prices then as we are today? ???
I don't think I cared as I passed my driving test in 1987, so was just happy to be on the road in my rusty Renault 5!!! :y :y :y

£1.70 a GALLON.....now it's not far off that for a litre!!

I use quite a lot of unleaded to power two stroke tools (chainsaws, pruners and the like) at this time of year. It is always a shock when I go to the station with my trusty Paddy Hopkirk (remember him?)gallon tin and fumble in my pocket for about 7 euros fifty before having to pay by card!
Makes you wonder how much it will be in twenty years time! ;D ;D ;D. Someone will be posting on a forum and saying when they were young it was only £1.50 a litre!

£2.00 a litre by the end of the year , no need to panic ::)
Panic fuel buying forcing people to overspend on fuel was staged so the goverment would reep the rewards and it worked >:(.... in the meantime petrol stations around here have upped the price by 2p every week since .
Just been out today and ive seen unleaded at 1.51 a litre >:(
37.6 a litre back then and 50p parking all day :'( :'(
Good ole days are long gone :(

As the trend is oil prices is falling, hopefully we should start seeing the price of petrol falling as well.
