I'd actually have the M5 if it was given to me, mine own money I'd have neither. I'd flog the GTR if I was given that, buy a VXR8 & spend left over on fuel/tax!

A colleague bought an M3 and was chatting with an ex-M3 owner who advise him to leave the launch control well alone. Apparently he tried it out once and went straight through a bus shelter !  :o

Launch control in an M3 makes it all stupidly twitchy when you take off if you don't catch it right, you have to be very alert to keep it in a straight line, but when you do it makes sense. It was half the reason I went for a manual M3, that and the fact the DCT was much harder to come by.

Different beasts, which that stupid video fails to consider. One is a full sized saloon that seats 5 and has a proper sized boot that can accomodate proper luggage. The other is a 2 seater with 2 baby seats in the rear, a boot that is half the size of the M5 and a poorer quality interior.

I love the GTR, but if I had to choose one it wouldnt be the GTR. I would break my back getting my little one and out all the time. As a weekend toy, the GTR would br my choice, but not as a daily driver.

Most new cars do that now I think - hazards flash under heavy braking
