Hi everyone, I just got a 'y'reg 2.6 estate yesterday and upon trying the CCD2006 found that it wasn't working (well, I suppose it the whole front of the unit comes off in your hand that is classed as not working !!) anyway, I am swapping to a single din head unit i already have and after buying the fascia adapter and taking out the old unit I discovered that the plug from the wiring loom is a larger 3 section ISO type which wont fit into the radios standard double block socket ? i assume that the extra bit is for the steering controls or the display? what options do i have? I'm not particularly fussed about steering controls if it's going to cost a bomb. ANY ideas folks?

Should be able to buy an adaptor from Autoleads, which will allow you to connect your HU to existing loom. For controls you'll need an extra extension / adaptor, but all will depend on your HU and availability of adapters :y

Oh, and welcome to OOF :y

Thanks for the reply, I've had a few Vauxhalls over the years and they never fail to impress (Senator 24V. Carlton CDX, Vectra etc) it's always good to come home to one !

There's a coincidence - I have the same problem with my 2006. Be careful, as mine was keeping some circuits alive and causing the battery to drain. I've pulled it all out now.
Please do let us know how this goes, I'll be popping in another headunit in a couple of weeks, driving to work at 5am in silence is too solemn :)

And by CCD2006, I meant CCR 2006.

If you are not fussed about steering controls, you need this lead
http://www.dndservices.co.uk/pc2-04-4.html
and if you want to connect a compatable head unit to the steering controls, you will need this interface
http://www.dndservices.co.uk/pc99-x06.html
;)
ps - top block isn`t used as reserved for OEM display and CD changer functionality, neither of which you will be using with an aftermarket head unit - although that said, if you have a Kenwood with display out capability, there is another lead available - just ask.
-
That's great info, so, to keep the steering wheel controls - do I buy both of those leads or just the second one?
-
just the second i believe :y
-
Just the second one, and on our page at the bottom will also show the additional patch lead you will need for your stereo

Cheers Dave, should be getting the leads today.
Does anyone want a 'safe' displaying ccr 2006 with the fascia fitting knackered, but the cd cassette intact for free before it goes in the bin? Basingstoke is where I be.
-
Cheers for the advice Dave, got everything super quick and plonked it in and it all works (even the 'mute' button on the steering wheel).
For anyone else, there is one more thing to add - an aerial adapter. Something like this: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_176311_langId_-1_categoryId_265877

Hmmm, do you ever pass Reading, Alton or Bracknell?
I could do with some bits out of it :y
-
Damn, I pass by Reading twice a day - but the unit was taken by the binmen last week.
