The old doors on the Silver Bullet were in a bad state, and as RobG was breaking a Z147 facelift with reasonable doors on, a plan was formed.
I had expected it to take 3 or 4 hours. In reality it took a long, hard day and a half. No real major problems, just a few little issues, such as having to swap the looms over. Getting off the bump strips undamged - something I was concerned about - turned out to be the easy bit.
I still need to sort out the strips, as it currently has FL ones on. Sadly, although both old and new are Z147, there is a noticeable difference in shade. Have to see what it's like when cleaned.
Massive thanks to chrisgixer, without his help yesterday and today, it wouldn't have been possible, and also to joshwyatt, who was the courier service, and also provided a perfect workbench on the driveway... ...a Range Rover ;D
I've definitely over done things this weekend :-[

I found this quite awkward tbh. Theory, yes should be fine. Door strips and actually removing and re fitting doors was the easy bit... Although we had to man handle 8 doors, which is awkward, and they are heavy, defo a two man job and easy to chip paint on door edges and wings.
What was a pita was putting door cards on so many times to find differences between models;
door loom is wrong, door card off
that gromit is missing for the door handle screw, door card off
the door lock pin rod is shorter on pre face lift, door card off
And in between each stage sorting the other doors so they are ready without having to take that door card off AGAIN as well! Very very fiddly. And all the time kneeling and working low down.
Oh, wing mirror nut seized in had to drill and re tap.
Oh and also, some of the door card holes are in different positions along the bottom edge.
Frustrating job, but thought the differences listed above would help others with pre face lift door rot solution.
And good old Josh was a star as usual. :y
Stick with face lift door strips though TB. Far seperior car the face lift.... ;) ;D
