Title: 3.2 Manual (Ex Plod) For Sale
Post by: damon80 on 07 May 2012, 03:54:19
I'm back on 2 wheels now, after a prolonged absence (i.e. bad bike accident 8yrs ago).

Anyway, the ol' girl isn't getting used that much anymore, so it's time to say goodbye.  I know I'm going to regret it though...  :'(

She's a 2004, on a 53 plate.  Done 129k, with a full service history (both in Police possesion, and mine).

3.2 V6, Manual box.  Get over 38mpg on a run, more than the wife's 1.7 Puma!!  Anyone who says these things drink fuel is either a liar, or an Auto driver.  The manual's are stupidly economical for the size of the engine.  I put her i 5th gear at 15mph when pootling round town, and she pulls cleanly from there.

Some pics here - she still looks the same (washed and polished every week)

Also a pic to prove the cambelt change, performed by Mr Elite Pete:

And the engine bay, fully detailed:

Taxed and MOT'd (MOT Oct, tax end July).

As I say, I'm only selling to raise funds for a 2nd motorbike that I can use when it's raining, so I don't have to ruin my 32yr old Honda!

Whoever buys her will not be disappointed.

The car's in Wigan - just off the M58/M6 junction, and I'm open to viewings any time with prior arrangement.

I'm after £1,600 for her - a bargain considering she's a 3.2 with a manual box, and in bl00dy good nick, and is good on fuel, and has recently had oil and filter change, and has had a recent cambelt - she wants for nothing.

If you want a look, my mob no is 07815 794119.

Cheers  :)

And, just to add, we've had many a family holiday round Europe in her, and she's never once missed a beat.

She loved the Autobahn's, even with a boot full of camping gear, and roof-rack on.

Never had a towbar fitted, but one is easily fitted.  Caravanners on here will tell you that these are one of the best tow-cars you can get - certainly one of the cheapest!!

That's another reason for the sale - we have a motorhome now that we do our touring round Europe in.

A common fault on these is the crank sensor failing - had that changed a couple of years back by Vauxhall main dealer, so no worries there.

Added to that, an Elite Pete cambelt job (a man who knows his Omega engines, and has the correct cam-locking tools as well as timing tools, plus a full oil and filter change, plus a full coolant change, about 12k ago), and oil change done since myself.  Even Pete commented on the internal strenght of the engine during the cambelt change, when he was turning it over by hand, and it blew the protective blue tissue roll out of the inlet manifold!

No EML lights showing, always run on Shell V-Power.

The more I type, the more I think I'm daft for getting rid...  :'(  Whoever buys her will be a happy chappie or lassie!

I'm offering her for sale on here cos I've got nowt to hide - not like the chanchers on ebay flogging their "px bargains".  If she sells - great, I know she's gone to a good home.  If not, she'll be advertised locally.

Longest I've owned a car for is this, she is a part of the family, and is in a shed-load of our family hols pics (I took the pics...  ::) ), so whoever buys her best stay in touch!

Cheers folks  :y

Had a new windscreen fitted today (some kind wagon flicked a stone up and cracked the screen  >:(  >:( ) - no damage done other than the screen, it hit the screen sqaure-on.

And I made an error in the original post regarding the road tax - it's up at the end of this month (May), not July.  But I'll be putting 6 months tax on her.

I've took some much more recent pics of her last Friday - not had chance to upload them to PhotoBucket yet, but if you PM me your e-mail address, I'll mail them out to you.

I'll give it another week or so on here, and then I'll bang her on ebay with a reserve price set higher than the £1600 I'm asking on here.

Cheers  :y

Finally got round to uploading the more recent pics, taken last week.  Apologies for the delay, been mad busy recently.  And sorry about the quality of some of the pics not being 100% - I ain't no David Bailey, that's for sure...  :-[  ;D
