Title: Bonnet release cable route.
Post by: JimE on 08 May 2012, 20:07:32
Sorry folks but another simple question. The bonnet release cable at the moment is lying across the top of the engine and I am pretty sure it shouldn't be there  ??? Can someone post a pic of the route it should take so I can put it back where it belongs? I think (know) someone has been messing around with it as the kick panel down by the pedals has been removed and the release handle is just dangling at the  moment and making it very difficult to open the bonnet.

Held with clips under scuttle, runs down side of triangular relay box (3 arrows) and cable outer sheath/casing is secured with a clip under plastic radiator shrouding (orange line).

Cheers, that's where  ithought it went, tried it there, shut the bonnet and couldn't get it open again. Had to hold the outer cable quite stretched down by the release handle and then it opened. Cable had popped back off the clips and was lying back across the engine. However i did notice from the pic it seems the cable is cable tied to part of a wiring loom on the nearside inner wing, my cable is not so maybe thats the problem?

There's a clamp on the outer sheath under the front plastic cover, slcken the clamp & re-adjust it there.  :y

Check out the guides on here - I'm sure there is one for making an adjustment :y
