My resently bought 2000 model Omega 2.0 DTI is missing some power.
Had a mechanic hook up the computer while testing the car and everything looks good and no codes came up,exept for the turbo. The pressure goes up to about 1,and drops to about 0.5,up to 1,and down to 0.5...and so on......
This happends everytime you accelerate,it starts about 2000 rpm, I doesnt feel it much 1-2-3 gear, but i feel the power drops very good in 4-5 gear.
There are no vacuumleak, and wastegate seems to woork as it should......do i ned a new turbo....or anything else...
I really hope to get this sorted out without having to change things it just might be....
Hope you understand what this Norwegian is writing here and i really would be thankful for any ideas who solve my problem:-)

Hi Thomas and welcome to OOF :y :y
I'm not really sure what to suggest for your problem but I hope someone more knowledgeable will be along soon. We didn't get that engine here in the uk though

I Know the later 2.2 DTi engine like mine can suffer from the EGR valve sticking open so when the turbo goes to boost up its just sending it straight out again causing loss of power, in your case maybe its 'sticky' open then trying to shut sort of thing but if youve checked Vacuum hoses then only other thing it could possibly be is a split in one of your intercooler hoses.

I will check the EGR and intercoolerhoses this weekend.
Is turbofailure any problem on this cars, mine has about 250000 km on the meter now.

I'm thinking that the turbo is OK because you said it seems ok in lower gears. Could well be an EGR fault though

Talked with an Opel mechanic today and he did not think it was the turbo either, but with that km on the meter and without the history about what have been done to the motor the latest years he thought the best idea would be to take off and clean the intake manifold and EGR. It is a threepiece intake on this motor and he said the middle part often got clogged/filled with sh#%"t....
Thanks for reply.
