Title: What could cause an Emissions warning to come on? (non-omega)

As above.

Mate has this come up. What sort of thing could cause this?

Just out of interest :)

maybe something to do with exhaust manifold or ex. valves?

All sorts

Poor lambda operation

Air leak before the cat

Misfire

Incorrect timing

Fuelling issues..

Sensors

Litreally, all sorts.

Need to know the code :y

Even something as simple as a duff brake lamp switch can trigger EML on a lot of modern cars ???

Depends on the vehicle, the fuel, the make etc.

My Scudo complains of bad emissions when the turbo goes tits up  :o

ok its a 2004 golf GTTDI. Hes gettin codes read today. no other symptoms, car running well.

ill get results hopefuly today :)
