Title: Battery Fixing
Post by: robson on 12 May 2012, 12:28:07
Anybody had trouble with a moving battery. I fitted a new battery firstly the old bolt sheared off so drilled out and used nut and bolt. Maybe the foot on the new battery is not as deep as the old battery but even with a piece of rubber between the clamp and the battery it is still sliding about. Any ideas.

I would have thought if you have bought the battery from the Vx stealers and its the right battery for the car it should fit with the standard clamp - I found them very competitive when I bought mine and it came with a 3 year warranty. I'd check the you've got the right battery for the car. :y

The bottom edge of a battery is pretty standard. Have you fitted the clamp correctly? Only recently I noticed that my battery was lose on my Omega and althoughth the plate wasn't rattling around, it wasn't clamping the battery. Refitting it correctly sorted it.  :y :y

Yes it is the correct battery it might be the fact that I drilled out the old  bolt oversize and the clamp isnt fitting properly. The battery cover in the way doesnt help to see what is going on.Will have another go tomorrow.
