2001 2.2 omega estate.
Hi ... my engine is running sluggish, and has little acceleration. I gave it to a local mechanic who serviced oil, and filters, and plugs. Still running poorly. On later inspection i found a breather had pipe perished at the back, but looks intact from the front.
Got one on order along with rocker cover gasket, which is leaking oil. Also Eml is on don,t have any codes. Any idea's ...
thanks Alzer.

What light is on .. is it the Car and Spanner , or is it the Engine light ?
I think most 2.2 petrols need a code reader as im sure the "pedal trick" doesnt work on these .
Its not happy about something though so there must be a code somewhere if the eml is on.

Hi there thanks for responding. The light that's showing is the engine management light, and i have just tried to start her up to find the battery is totally discharged. Not sure what it is but its not happy as you say. :(

If the EML is on, you have a fault code(s) ;)

So if its the "car and spanner" light its engine or gearbox electronics ... the "engine" light is for emmisions.
Needs a code reader on it unfortunatly .

my name is gibby, I've the 2.2l omega. I had the same problems, it lacked power when accelerating and very sluggish. but only yesterday I tried to take it for bit longer distance. I noted that something was wrong with the exhaust. Today I took it to the exhaust specialist and bingo it was blocked. So could check the exhaust, may its blocked.

S'funny you mention blocked exhausts because I noticed the 2.6 v6 I'm about to start breaking was a little sluggish when I first got it around a month ago, it's recently come back into my possession and I've noticed the rear silencer has split along the seam and all the wadding is trailing out.
It has cured the sluggishness though!
