Title: How lucky
Post by: Elite Pete on 06 April 2008, 14:55:45
A couple of months back I bought an MV6 Saloon which my old man bought off me. In the paper work that came with the car was a large receipt for a recent cambelt change, anyway in the week Dad phoned to say "can you hear this" and held the phone to the engine of his MV6, it sounded like River Dance in a metal buscuit tin so I told him to turn it off quickly as it sounded like the cambelt had jumped a couple of teeth. I ordered a new cambelt kit and waterpump and went down there yesterday and once stripped this is what I found.

Suprisingly (and to my relief) the belt hadn't skipped and the timing was spot-on so the new belt, tensioners and water pump was fitted and the car now runs nice and quietly. I should have asked my Dad to put £50 on the National for me yesterday ;)
