My tensioner on my V6 is noisy and I would like to know if it is possible to repack it with grease or do I have to replace it?
Thanks

Can be re-packed

Thanks.

Not a fortune to replace from VX, you only replace the pulley not the whole tensioner.

Personally I agree with Simon. You can pack them with grease but I would prefer to put a new one on myself.

Just to say....my tensioner was slightly noisy.....then the centre of the pulley totally melted and disintegrated. Was repaired at roadside by RAC...I can't remember the price, but he bought the whole tensioner, but only replaced the pulley, as the spring unit was ok. It was not extorionate in price...but had it been a self repair at home, it would have been peanuts :y

I currently have a query on the tensioner itself :-
Can anyone help with this info
Should the tensioner spring have lubrication?
IE. when new is the spring within the tensioner barrel oily??
