Title: Emission light on
Post by: keithnic on 15 May 2012, 14:21:06
Hi, my emission light has been on for quite a while now on my 3.2v6 and my local garage has quoted me about an hour to move the lamda sensors as per (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90613.0).  I just want to check that doing this will make the warning light go out?  Will it make the car's mpg any better?

Have you done the pedal trick? You need to get the codes, if you get 0430 codes, then yes that should resolve it.

Yep, did the pedal test and I have codes 0420 and 0430.  I assume the lambda boss and plugs are the standard size and will source on Ebay. Thanks.

Cheapo ones may not cure the problem, and be a waste of money.

You will probably have to bite the bullet, and buy genuine ones.

What are you smoking, Mr AA ;D

OP - yeah, standard size bosses and plugs, about £15 for both sides. Plenty of holecutters required, and you may need new manifold to downpipe gaskets.
