ESP switched off?. I would have thought that the electronic safety net would have cut in and spared him a bright red face.

Electronic safety systems aren't idiot proof either. :D :D :D

Very true! You can catch even the best traction control system out.. plus half the time they make the situation worse. Anyway in 'sport mode' most allow a certain slip %age (20% on the 997 911, for example, in 'sport plus') ;) It looks like he got it sideways, didn't counter steer (enough) and jumped on the brakes - result the car went straight on until it met the next immovable object .. the oncoming traffic ;D

Looks (to me) like he tried to counter the slide with "a dab of oppo".......but it seems it was too little, too late. I reckon he had the ESP system switched off. Still, I'm sure he'll see the funny side of the video. Not. ::) ::) ::) ;)

Anyway this situation reminds me my grandfather (R.I.P.) who was a really crazy and easy guy all the time by the family legendary. Well once upon a time he came home at night from the work on his best cycle and thought that what a good fun would be to cycle between the two other cyclist who came opposite him. He saw just two lamps of cyclists. One minute later he crashed a car that parked by the roadside haha... :D Maybe the Lambo driver was thinking what a good fun would be running between the ongoing traffic... :D :D

Reminds me of the legendary mad Friday at Le Mans "I've never driven a supercar before and now I'm in the spotlight. How hard can it be?" incident. ;D

.. and I've just spotted the story on how they "repaired" it by tying the front end to a rock and reversing, which is even more amusing.

;D ;D Nice repair job, that.. the pikey chassis jig in action!
Actually I had a friend who regularly repaired her cars like that, although it was usually a tree or lamp post...
