Climate control makes the heater less like a hurricane when you 1st switch it on for one.

The auto-box upgrade is amazing! I had mine done by TheBoy and went from software version 3 to 8, I couldn't believe the car afterwards. So much smoother and more "solid" pulling away.

Gotta be done :y

When gently cruising and accelerate very gently past 45/50mph, do you feel the slight jerk? If so, you want the upgrade - it makes the box much smoother :y

There are updates for prefacelift, though sadly doesn't fix the fans issue like the facelift update does.  There are different versions of the prefacelift panel hardware, and the type in my MV6, it seemed to make it more consistent.

Only time I'd recommend making a journey to see Mark or I to do climate on prefacelift is if you had one of the very early ones that only have a 5 speed fan - the update, from feedback I've had, is a big improvement.

Title: Auto Software Update
Post by: keith2.2 on 06 April 2008, 22:38:01
I had my auto 'box software updated from v5 to v9 by TheBoy today.

-Seems to be smoother in general operation.
-More willing to rev during std. mode acceleration - seems to have got rid of the strange dead spot
-Sport mode revs higher

Only downside I'd say is it seems to be more willing to downshift when going up hills at a constant speed, although this could be because it's more efficient in a lower gear.

Overall I'd say worth doing!
