most touchpad systems have settings that can be changed .. worth checking to mak sure you haven't inadvertently changed them ?? Access either from the touchpad icon .. usuallly botom right by the clock, or via "control panel"
Use the mouse to check the settings, then unplug the mouse and see if the touchpad now works !!

Do you have a function key that disables the touchpad?
Fn + F7 on this acer.
If you have synaptics software installed there is section in there for button actions which would be worth checking.

my touch pad is very very sensitive to moisture.... doesnt help that i sweat like a bitch..... dry it and see if that helps

I tried the Fn + F7 but that just brings up something about the screen duplicate thing :-\ not sure what you mean by synaptics section :(

Using the mouse is easier once you get the hang of it ::) ..strange how the touchpad just stopped working though .Can the touchpads be replaced easily ?
