Title: xbox 360 for £15
Post by: martin42 on 20 May 2012, 19:39:11
as my old xbox kept dying of the rrod,i decided to take a gamble and buy 2 broken xbox 360's for £15 each, stripped them both down, changed dvd drive as this was the problem, but just my luck it wasnt compatible,so 2nd xbox stripped down swapped dvd again and still same thing not compatible,so decided to strip down original dvd drive, moved laser unit by hand, rebuilt it and it worked, what a result  ;D

kids seem to be keeping the old unit going by turning it upside down and giving it a bash. it has been in bits to give the laser a prod once or twice previously ::)

Because of the way the security works, any XBOX that has had the DVD unit swapped is likely to get a ban from the Live! service ;)
