Title: Cheap 2.2dti
Post by: BiodieselOmega on 20 May 2012, 21:43:46
Evening all!
I've been offered by a friend of mine a 2003 Dti cd saloon for it's scrap value. £250 was mentioned.
The problam he has with it is the IP.
It Failed last september and he bought a tested working used unit to fit on the car. His spanner man has fitted the pump but the engine will not turn with it fitted.
He say's it's not an immobiliser fault because the engine can not be turned with a spanner on the crank.
I can't see what can be wrong without looking at this car but i can't for the life oe me think what would cause this to happen.
The guy doing the work is a mechanic he's used for years so unless there is something peculier to the Omega setup i cant see him doing it wrong.
My one and only thought is that he's got the static timing very wrong and valve's and piston's are meeting.
What do we think boy's????

Sounds very much like the timing is way out if the car can't be turned on the crank.
